Staff

Melissa has been involved with The Bridge since the beginning nearly seven years ago, hired by then director Jeffrey Shicks as assistant director.  In January of 2010, Melissa become the full time director of The Bridge Youth Center. 

Melissa is a member of the Lee County "Bright Futures" mentoring program where at-risk youth are paired with adults who help them meet a criteria plan that will earn them scholarships to college.   Melissa also volunteers at LAMP (Lee Adolescence Mothering Program) Union Station (Christian youth leader's networking organization). 

Other commitments include: The Sheriff's Phoenix program: teaching life skills at the Lee County Juvenile Department of Justice.  Christian Chamber, Women's Life Networking Group, Juvenile Justice Council, The Bridge Networking Organization. 

Melissa facilitates a "Hurts and Habits" class to help teen relationship-building thru classes aimed at teaching positive choices when faced with life's challenges and is also directly connected with the Youth Coaltion Board as well as the Neighborhood Accountabilty Board.

Melissa is the proud wife of Ft. Myers Firefighter, Duane Terry.  Their children include 17 year old Ashley, twin 7 year old daughters: Sidney and Delaney and 2 year old Jacob.  Melissa loves every minute she can spend with her family, whether it be roller skating, bowling, movies, crafting, and going to the beach or pool and going to church together.
